Wrigley Field's non-baseball events
Instead of throwing pitches on July 22 at Wrigley Field, the athletes will be playing on a pitch.
That's right. The Cubs announced Wednesday that soccer--or futbol if you prefer--is returning to the Friendly Confines this summer when Italy's AS Roma plays Poland's Zaglebie Lubin in an international "Friendly at the Confines." (Ha, we see what they did there.)
The match will take place after the Ron Santo Hall of Fame induction ceremony and other Santo tributes that day.
Soccer was last played at Wrigley in 1984, when the Chicago Sting beat the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1. The return of soccer is just the latest in the line of non-baseball events at Wrigley. Here are some others.

Surprisingly, there are still people out there who don't know the Bears played their games at Wrigley for many, many years.
