My spring training baseball park trip literally ended with a bang Sunday afternoon in Viera, home of the Washington Nationals. Heavy rain and wind forced the game to be called after the seventh inning. The intense wind throughout the game made watching the game difficult. A Florida ballpark has to be prepared for all conditions: whether rain or sleet or snow. Well, maybe not sleet or snow. The stadium had some nice touches, including its own beer (a riff off of Killian's Red) but mostly it was forgettable. The weather, however, was not. |
