By Jack Silverstein, for RedEye I have a tangled history with Chicago baseball. I was raised a Cubs fan, but my family did not love the Cubs as much as we loved the Bears, and through the influence of one of my closest friends and a pennant race, I changed allegiances from Cubs to Sox in 1993. Then, at a Cubs-Sox game at Wrigley in 1998, I flip-flopped back to the Cubs and remained there until just after Alfonso Soriano struck out to end the Dodgers playoff series in 2008. So it was with that baseball fan background that I attended my first SoxFest, a week after attending my first Cubs Convention. I talked to a lot of fans and a few players, and spent Saturday and Sunday taking pictures. Here's what happened. (All photos by the author.) Want more?
