Teddy Greenstein's Big Ten bowl picks

Justice prevailed in Indianapolis. Michigan State was easily the Big Ten's most complete team and clearly its best representative for the Rose Bowl.

Spartan Nation — sounds better than Spartan Village — is so hungry to see the Green and White perform in Pasadena, the demand has pushed primo tickets to four figures on StubHub and nose-bleeds to $300.

But before we get to America's Favorite Granddaddy …

Texas Bowl, Friday, Syracuse (plus 4) vs. Minnesota: Chris Dufresne of the L.A. Times rated this as the most unappealing of the 35 bowl games? The potato heads in Boise send their thanks. Minnesota.

Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, Saturday, Michigan (plus 4 1/2) vs. Kansas State: It would be nice to know which Michigan team will show — the one that came within a two-point conversion of beating Ohio State or the one that considered "no gain" a successful running play. K-State.

Gator Bowl, Wednesday, Nebraska (plus 9) vs. Georgia: Bulldogs QB Aaron Murray is out, and Georgia is still nearly a double-digit favorite? Yup, and I wouldn't dare go against the SEC in this one. Georgia.

Outback Bowl, Wednesday, Iowa (plus 7 1/2) vs. LSU: The Hawkeyes are sneaky good. The Tigers are a box of chocolates — even more so after losing QB Zach Mettenberger. Easy call here: Iowa.

Capital One Bowl, Wednesday, South Carolina (plus 1 1/2) vs. Wisconsin: The Badgers would have landed here regardless of their final regular-season game, so let's give them a mulligan on that mystifying loss to Penn State. Wisconsin.

Rose Bowl, Wednesday, Michigan State (plus 5 1/2) vs. Stanford: Overlook them. Undervalue them. The Spartans are used to it. This game will come down to a field goal, so scoop up those points and watch it unfold. Michigan State.

Orange Bowl, Jan. 3, Clemson (plus 2 1/2) vs. Ohio State: The Tigers, it seemed, stopped playing after getting drilled by Florida State. They just ain't that good. But the Buckeyes have allowed 26 touchdown passes and Tajh Boyd can sling it, so look for Urban Meyer's crew to end the season with another "L." Clemson.

Best bet: Michigan State.

Last week: 3-4 (includes Big Ten title game). Season: 54-55.

Best bets: 7-7.
