WASHINGTON -- Kris Bryant likely won't receive a promotion to the Chicago Cubs this season, but he continues to collect minor league honors.

Bryant, the Cubs' first pick in the 2013 amateur draft, was selected to Baseball America's midseason All-Star team. Bryant is batting a combined .352 with 28 home runs and 76 RBIs in 84 games at Double-A Tennessee and Iowa.

In another development, the Cubs released Iowa left-handed reliever Jonathan Sanchez.

Sanchez spent most of the season on the disabled list and pitched in only one game for Iowa.
