About Last Night
9:20 PM CST, November 13, 2011
You didn’t have to wait until my Monday column to hear Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari went out on a date over the weekend. The once-private Cutler tweeted his plans to his 150,000 followers Friday.
“Dinner date night with @KristinCav,” Cutler wrote. “She loves her creamed spinach.”
This is hardly the first time the Bears quarterback and former “Hills” cast member have taken their on-again relationship to Twitter. It was just last week that Cavallari tweeted "To the man with the best butt in football, good luck tonight @jaycutler6 I’ll be watching.” Still, this was further proof that Cutler is more willing to address his personal life than he was in the past.
So where did the couple go for dinner date night?
From what I hear, they dined at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab before heading to Public House for post-dinner drinks (Grey Goose and soda). And while I don’t know if Cavallari had creamed spinach at Joe’s, I do know they ordered fried oysters, stone crab, turbot and parmesan halibut.
It remains to be seen how much longer this more public Cutler lasts. He was already showing signs of frustration with the hoopla surrounding his relationship the day after the date. When a fan tweeted a photo taken of the couple at Joe’s and wrote “@KristinCav doesn't look pleased! @JayCutler6 may have been using the menu as an offensive line?” Cutler tweeted back “Could be how rude and disrespectful you were. Just a guess though.”

On the record: "I thought of a character, a young man that had everyone he'd ever loved systematically taken away from him.
