A Tinley Park man who used a Taser on his wife after winning a Monday Night Football bet pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct charges stemming from the incident.

John M. Grant, 42, was fined $250 during his sentencing Jan 9, a court official said. The incident occurred Nov. 4 at a bar in Mayville, Wis., according to police.

Grant, a Chicago Bears fan, was accompanied by his wife, who roots for the Green Bay Packers, while they watched the game at Sidelines Tap, police said.

The married couple had a "running bet" that the fan of the losing team would be Tasered by the winner, bar owner Christopher Neu told the Tribune at the time.

"Obviously she lost," Neu said.

Grant’s wife called police afterward and said she had not given consent for anyone to use a Taser on her. After checking her cellphone, police saw a video of the Taser incident in the alley, according to the complaint.

In that video, Grant's wife is seen "laughing," police said, a comment in contrast to what she told police who inquired about her condition at the scene.

“Hell yeah it hurt,” she said, according to the complaint.

Both Grants had been drinking, police said.
