Glenbard West, fresh from a shutout victory against Downers Grove North the week before, had to be in shock Friday night when Lyons' Leonard Ross bolted down the right sideline for an 80-yard touchdown run on the game's first play from scrimmage.
But the No. 8 Hilltoppers didn't have much to worry about, considering they have their own special running back in Scott Andrews.
Andrews ran for 104 yards and a 1-yard touchdown in the first half, and had scoring runs of 55 and 2 yards in the third quarter en route to Glenbard West's 44-7 win at Lyons in a West Suburban Silver contest.

"I was just thinking that I have to respond," Andrews said. "My goal today was to show everyone that I was the best running back today; that's always my goal. We responded really well as a team, the defense came out, they knew what they had to do. The defense knew (Ross) was a very good running back; they were ready for the competition."
Glenbard West (3-1, 2-0) moved to a 31-1 record in the West Suburban Silver since 2008. And the Hilltoppers did it behind Andrews and a defense that shut down Ross after his scoring run.
The Hilltoppers held Ross to just 1 additional yard in the first half and scored 23 unanswered points for a 23-7 lead. On Glenbard's second possession of the third quarter, Andrews ran 55 yards for a score to put the Hilltoppers up 30-7.
Devante Toney scored on 7-yard run to tie the score 7-7 in the first quarter, and Drew Vogg threw an 11-yard TD pass to Connor Schrauth 7 seconds left before halftime.
