No. 20 Oak Park remained the last unbeaten team in the West Suburban Silver with some high drama.

Quarterback Lloyd Yates' 2-yard touchdown keeper in overtime lifted the Huskies to a 16-10 triumph over No. 19 Downers Grove North Friday night in Oak Park.

"This says a lot about our program," Yates said. "Coach (John Hoerster) stresses three words — grit, zeal and optimism, and this game showed it."

Oak Park (4-0, 2-0) stopped Downers (2-2, 0-2) in the first possession of overtime when defensive back Justin Starks recovered a fumble.

The Huskies held a 3-0 lead on Sebastian Medala's 27-yard field goal at 8:17 of the third quarter.

After nobody scored a touchdown in the first 46 minutes, each team scored one in the final two.

Downers completed a 13-play, 75-yard drive with quarterback David Edwards' 1-yard keeper for a touchdown with 2:55 remaining to move ahead 7-3. Oak Park answered with a five-play, 75-yard drive, scoring on Yates' 20-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Rowe to go up 10-7 with 1:11 remaining.

But the Trojans sent the game into overtime on Gareth Jones' 42-yard field as time expired.

The first half finished scoreless after both teams came up empty in the red zone late in the second quarter. First, Downers was stopped short on a fourth-and-1 at the 3. Then Oak Park lost a fumble at the 7 with 15 seconds left in the half.
