The match actually turned on No. 9, where Johnson hit an approach to 15 feet and Dufner’s putt hung on the lip before going down. The Americans then won the 10th to take a 1-up lead. Dufner drained one from 10 feet for birdie.
It showed. While Westwood sliced his drive on No. 15 into the middle of the pond, the Americans played it conservatively to go 2-up. Dufner rolled in a 2-foot par putt on the 16th to end it.
