Elena Delle Donne began the season as one of the "Three to See," the WNBA rookies who were chosen 1-2-3 in this year's draft.
Over the course of the season, No. 2 pick Delle Donne has become a female version of "The Chosen One," drawing far greater accolades than Brittney Griner (1) and Skylar Diggins (3).
The latest should leave little doubt the Sky's Delle Donne will be named WNBA rookie of the year.
How could it be otherwise now that she has earned another rookie of the month award, giving her a three-peat sweep of that prize so far this season?
She also has won four Eastern Conference player of the week awards.
In August, Delle Donne led the WNBA in three-point shooting (59.3) percent and all rookies in scoring (18.4) and rebounding (5.8).
For the season, she is fourth overall in scoring average (18.3) and first in both three-point shooting (47.5) and free throw shooting (91.6).
Delle Donne has helped the Sky not only earn the first playoff berth in the franchise's eight-year history but clinch first place in the Eastern Conference with five games left.
The Sky (21-8) next plays Friday night at Allstate Arena against fourth-place Indiana (13-5), a potential first-round playoff opponent.
