In case you haven't noticed, Orioles catcher Matt Wieters has not only helped his pitchers by guiding them through seven of the first eight games. He also has helped keep the pressure off them by throwing out four of the five runners who have tried to steal against them. Backup Taylor Teagarden also was challenged in his first start of the season and threw out the only potential base stealer. Don't know if they can keep up that 83 percent success rate, but word gets around and that kind of early efficiency is going to make a lot opposing base runners think twice about risking an out against the Orioles.
