The unkindest cut of all
Maybe it wasn't such a big surprise that Dylan Bundy's elbow injury required a Tommy John tendon transplant, but it was still a big blow to an organization that has put a huge emphasis on developing young pitching over the past decade and does not have a great deal to show for it. Bundy will come back in a year or so and he'll still be a very young prospect, but there's no guarantee that he'll be the guy the Orioles were planning to build their rotation of the future around. That guy is now Kevin Gausman and he's going to need to grow up in a hurry if the Orioles are to stay in the hunt for a playoff berth this year.
