Rich Melman has brought Chicago a wonderful selection of restaurants. He should be commended for this. However, he should be flogged with a wet linguine for setting a precedent of ”no reservations”!
How can the people of Chicago halt this practice? Solution: Next time you have to wait one to three hours to be seated, take a table in the bar and order water (tip your waitress as if you were being served $3 drinks; after all, it`s not her policy). By following these simple instructions, you will still enjoy the ambience of a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. Your bill will be dramatically lowered. And maybe, just maybe, these restaurants will begin taking reservations.
