The Wiener's Circle welcomes Donald Trump with 3-inch hot dog deal

Despite the demise of the "[bleep] Trump"-graffitied billboard Tuesday, Chicagoans continue to come up with creative ways to welcome Donald Trump to the city for his Friday rally at UIC Pavilion. The Wiener's Circle (2622 N. Clark St.) is getting in on the dogging, if you will, with a very special weekend offer: the Trump Art of the Meal deal including the "Trump footlong," a 3-inch hotdog, according to Wiener's Circle creative director Brendan Kelly.

The Trump Art of the Meal menu includes three items, Kelly said: the Trump footlong ($2.69), which comes fully dressed Chicago-style; the Trump Package ($8.30), including two mini-dogs with fries and a drink; and the Super PAC ($12.56) with four mini-dogs, fries and a drink.

"At The Wiener's Circle, we’re going to do our part to make him feel at home," Kelly said. "Americans are hungry for a good old fashioned Trump footlong."

While it’s not another McDowell's Halloween costume restaurant takeover, Kelly said there are plans to dress up the hot dog joint and staff with signage and hats that read, “Make wieners great again.” They’re also looking into building a wall in the restaurant.

"I believe that the tagline for the wall is, 'We’re going to build a wall to keep E. coli out and make Chipotle pay for it,'" Kelly said in jest. "As of now, we've heard nothing back [from Chipotle], but you know, that's why you gotta play hardball with these guys."

Don't be fooled by its size—tiny dog, big flavor. The Trump Art of the Meal menu is available at The Wiener's Circle Friday through Sunday. Follow the weekend shenanigans at The Wiener's Circle's Facebook and Twitter.
