Since Ugly Heroes (Chicago’s Verbal Kent, Detroit MC Red Pill and producer Apollo Brown) released their 2013 self-titled debut, all three members of the rap supergroup have been more than busy. Just last year, Brown released his seventh solo album, “Grandeur,” Kent unveiled “Anesthesia” and Red Pill shared “Look What This World Did To Us,” which was one of my favorite albums of the year for the way he found beauty and sadness in life’s mundane moments (peep “Meh” to see what I mean).

Now that the three are reunited, they’re back and better than ever with the release of their sophomore album, “Everything In Between,” which is out June 24 via Mello Music Group. While the trio have already shared album cuts “This World” and “Heart Attack,” they return today with a video for “Unforgiven,” which is exclusively premiering below with RedEye.

The track deals with some heartfelt verses from Red Pill, who tries to write a Christmas card to an estranged family while Verbal Kent spends time looking back on a horrific attack he experienced at a Chicago nightclub. As the track goes on, it’s clear these two MCs are battling their demons and coming out on top. If there’s a takeaway from these complex and emotionally nuanced verses, it’s that shit happens and it sucks, but forgiveness and a new perspective on the hardship make life go on.

Watch the Orange Cap-directed clip and be sure to pre-order the album here.
