As if overwhelming pride and crippling anxiety while cheering on the Cubs in the National League Division Series weren’t enough, you can now add a heaping dose of nostalgia to the mix.
YouTube video creator Johnny Fitz Live shared “Super Cubbie Bros.” on Friday, ahead of the start of the Cubs’ NLDS games at Wrigley. The 46-second clip stars the titular Mario decked out in blue and white garb running past the city skyline and stomping on Goombas wearing Giants caps.
The video ends with Mario pulling down a Giants flag and raising retired Cubs numbers before running into Wrigley Field, appropriately remodeled as a castle.
You can see more (like Mario drinking Old Style—yes, for real) in the video above. The real-life Cubs—not the 64-bit ones—are playing the Giants in Game 3 of the NLDS at AT&T Park on Monday.
