“Strike Back” exploded back on to Cinemax last week with the two-part Season 2 premiere in which Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) did their “Laurel & Hardy” bit under fire in Mogadishu.
As the season continues Friday, Section 20, under the new leadership of Rachel Dalton (Rhona Mitra), hunts for the nuclear triggers that slipped away from them in Somalia. They get bombed (not drinking-wise) in Niamey, Niger, and are joined by Sgt. Julia Richmond (Michelle Lukes) to search for a courier named Othmani (Said Taghmaoui, who should never wear a shirt). Later, they parachute into the country’s northern desert, where they encounter a Tuareg group led by Markunda (Laetitia Eido).
It’s another action-packed episode that delves into the region’s issues, Stonebridge’s anger over his wife’s murder, and the bromance between Scott and Stonebridge. Speaking of Scott, never fear, fans playing the “Who will Scott shag this week?” game. It happens, with someone from his past.
Paul Wilmshurst, who directed Eps. 7 and 8 last season, returned to helm this episode, which was written by James Dormer. Check out the photos and video previews below. Tune in at 9 p.m. Aug. 24 for the episode. (If you haven’t seen the premiere, you can watch both parts on YouTube this week.)
