White Sox fan Drew Duszynski, whose family’s journey to find a replacement kidney was recently featured in RedEye, was treated like royalty by his favorite team at SoxFest late last month.
Drew, 5, has recessive polycystic kidney disease. He had both kidneys removed in June 2015 and was in desperate need of a donor. That’s when Cubs fan Chris White answered the call. Doctors performed the transplant in December and Drew is feeling better than ever, his family says.
