“Nikita” is unraveling plot twists every Friday, but it won’t solve at least one mystery before the final season ends: Who exactly is flying Team Nikita’s plane?

“Will you tell me if you find out? I have no clue,” star Maggie Q told me, laughing, during a recent interview. “We would talk about different situations and bringing on different pilots and people they know. And then who actually flies and blah, blah, blah, and this, that and the other. And it was just all kind of a running joke—and not something we could get into.”

Nikita and her pals have made the plane their lair for the season. She, Michael (Shane West), Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford) and Ryan (Noah Bean) have all been seen in the back of the plane together, so none of them seem to be flying it.

Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) and Sonya (Lyndie Greenwood), along with wildcard Sam/Owen (Devon Sawa), are all on the ground running their own part of the operations.

Maybe the plane is outfitted with one fantastic auto-pilot?

“You’re like, ‘What the…?’ Yeah. It’s so true,” Q said. “I feel the same way and it’s gonna be one of those things that people just talk about and one of those things that we’re not gonna bring up.”

She added, laughing again: “I’m not telling because we don’t know.”

New episodes of “Nikita” air at 8 p.m. Fridays through Dec. 27 on The CW.
