When most people think of comfort foods, they think meatloaf, chili, maybe a pot pie. But a woman featured in the upcoming season of “My Strange Addiction” finds comfort in eating her cat’s hair.

Lisa, a middle-aged woman from Detroit, claims that chewing the hair soothes and relaxes her. As you can see in the video below, she picks cat hair up off the floor, but finds it is best straight from the source. So she grooms the cat with her tongue as if she were its mother.

“I don’t get as involved as another cat would,” Lisa says in the video below. “I’m not licking her butt.”

Well, at least she’s not doing that. I wonder if she throws up hairballs?

Lisa is one of several folks we’ll meet in the fourth season of “My Strange Addiction,” which begins at 9 p.m. CT Feb. 13 on the network that seems to bring us every oddball in the country, TLC.

The eight half-hour episodes will introduce viewers to Mike and Trina, a couple addicted to coffee enemas despite warnings from gastroenterologists that so many in one day are dangerous. The spend “hours in the bathroom to achieve the clean sensation and energy they constantly crave,” TLC says.

Other featured addictions this season: a young woman addicted to eating deodorant, a man who maintains intimate relationships with pool toy inflatables, a young mother addicted to butt injections, a woman addicted to bee stings, and a woman so addicted to vapor rub that she goes through more than 30 jars, inhalers and patches every week.

The season ends with a look at Michelle, shown in the photo above, who is addicted to drinking blood. And she’s not even a vampire.
