An Elmwood Park man was charged with criminal damage to property after he allegedly clogged a Jefferson Park police station cell toilet with mattress stuffing.

Joshua Kozlowski, 29, was arrested March 17 near his home after being accused of providing false information to a Chevy car dealership and then fleeing to a nearby bar with the keys to two cars for sale.

But after being taken to the Jefferson Park District station, 5151 N. Milwaukee Ave., county prosecutors said, he used mattress stuffing to clog up a cell toilet and flood his detention cell. For that behavior, Kozlowski was charged with felony criminal damage to property, in addition to a misdemeanor offense.

Kozlowski was brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse Wednesday afternoon and ordered held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
