The Guardian Angels, the volunteer CTA watch group, will hold a free self-defense class Sunday in the wake of a reported sexual assault at a North Side bus stop earlier this month.
The class will be held 2 to 5 p.m., at 1552 W. Schreiber Ave., according to a news release by the Guardian Angels.
The Angels say today they will hand out flyers about the attack, which was reported to have occurred May 2 at about 2 p.m. A woman said a man grabbed her as she waited at a bus stop at Clark and Devon Avenues, dragged her to a nearby alley, assaulted and robbed her.
Her family is offering a $5,000 reward for information about the attack that leads to arrest, according to the Angels release.
The Angels will pass out flyers about the attack and reward from 2 to 6 p.m., at the corner of Clark and Devon Aves.
Police describe the attacker as a 5-foot-8, 300-pound black man with short black hair. He was wearing a striped polo shirt and blue jeans at the time.
