With “Homeland” returning for its third season in just over a week, Showtime has created a Web site for the fictional news agency CNB and released a 9-minute featurette, both of which delve into the aftermath of the 12/12 bombing.

“Homeland Aftermath” tells the story of the Season 2 finale bombing and will help refresh fans’ memories of all that happened and then some. The Web site, homelandaftermath.com, has areas about “the attack” and “the impact.” When I checked it out, nothing in “the impact” was showing up, but it could be OK by now.

Under each main section are videos, maps, photos, a timeline and many more methods of explanation, of cleverly set up as if CNB had created them.

The video above sort of wraps the whole thing up in nine minutes. The new season will deal with the fallout from the attack. Carrie Matheson (Claire Danes), Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) and the CIA are under fire from the Senate and the public over Nicholas Brody’s (Damian Lewis) alleged attack on the CIA at Langley.

“Homeland” returns at 8 p.m. CT Sunday, Sept. 29, on Showtime.
