Welcome to RedEye’s 2016 holiday gift guide. It’s crazy to think that the year is coming to a close, though some of us are undoubtedly happy to let this one go. But as we near winter territory, I can’t help but notice that our city is more alive than ever. Little lights twinkle in the trees, the smell of pine needles wafts through towering skyscrapers, holiday tunes make their way back to Spotify playlists and a nip of bourbon is the only coat we need until the snow falls. This time of year is a total sensory experience in all the right ways.

That’s why we used the five senses—sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch—to organize this year’s guide. Our 2016 gift guide is packed with presents that help your friends and family have meaningful experiences. Whether it’s a digital scent speaker to curate the air around them, handmade pasta from Monteverde to help them taste the town or a penguin encounter at the Shedd Aquarium to get out there and touch the cutest animal on earth, these gifts are meant to give something more. And we couldn’t be more excited to help you spend an entire paycheck on making those around you smile (amiright or amiright?).

As always, please note that prices and availability of products are subject to change. Happy gifting!
