By now, we are all adequately stoked about “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” the “Cursed Child” book and play and finding out what our Patronuses are, but nothing will ever beat the original “Harry Potter” books and movies that changed our boring Muggle lives for the better. Now, thanks to IMAX theaters, some lucky fans will be able to relive the magic on the (really) big screen.

Starting Oct. 13, the original eight movies will be playing in select IMAX 2-D theaters for one week, featuring an additional sneak peek at “Fantastic Beasts,” due out Nov. 18.

The showings of “Sorcerer’s Stone” and “Chamber of Secrets” will mark the films’ IMAX debuts, as they were never released in the larger format their first time around.

Chicago won’t be host to any of the IMAX showings, because nothing in this life is fair, but if you hop in your car and head to Missouri or Minnesota, please take us with you. You can look up showtimes and start planning your road trips on the IMAX website.

UPDATE: Regal City North (2600 N. Western Ave.) will be showing the movies on Oct. 14, starting with “Sorcerer’s Stone” at 1 a.m. and ending with “Deathly Hallows Part 2” at 9:45 p.m. The IMAX theater at Navy Pier is currently closed for renovations.
