Just as news of Disney-Pixar’s most recent hit, “Inside Out,” is dying off, they release a trailer for next big thing “The Good Dinosaur.” This is the first time Disney-Pixar will dabble in the prehistoric era, creating a story in a universe where dinosaurs never went extinct. This had us thinking about all the other dinosaurs we’ve seen in movies and TV shows in the past, and we rank them here from good to bad and cuddly to creepy. We can’t say for sure, but “The Good Dinosaur” may be one of the cuddliest yet.

Yoshi

Nintendo, 1990

Yoshi is everything you could ever want in a dinosaur and in a best friend. He lets you ride him, he eats your enemies and he’s super fast in Mario Kart.

Littlefoot

The Land Before Time, 1988

OK, so we admittedly didn’t make it to the 13th installment of this franchise, but we can still say with certainty that Littlefoot could never be anything but adorable and good-hearted.

Dino

The Flintstones, 1960

Dino is a faithful pal and truly is a part of the family. What would the Flintstones do without him?

Rex

We’re Back, 1993

He’s mostly good, but Rex’s stint being captured by the evil Professor Screweyes gives him an edge toward the dark side.

Rex

Toy Story, 1995

Rex really means no harm, but his clumsiness gets in the way of his intentions sometimes. Like when he knocked the walkie-talkie batteries out right when Buzz Lightyear arrived.

Dinobots

Transformers, 2014

We know that dinobots mean no harm, but we still don’t want to cuddle with metal.

Barney

Barney & Friends, 1992

OK, he taught children some good life lessons, but there’s no denying that there’s something a little sketchy going on with this big purple dino.

Baby Sinclair

Dinosaurs, 1991

We remember liking this TV show as kids, but watch it on Netflix now without getting creeped out. We dare you.

Charizard

Pokemon, 1996

We know that Charizard isn’t technically a dinosaur, but we wanted to include him so get off our backs. As to whether he’s good or bad? That all depends on if he’s your pokemon or your enemy’s.

Sue

Field Museum, 2000

If you haven’t yet seen Sue in person, stop reading this and go to the Field Museum.

Reptar

Rugrats, 1991

Reptar has evil red glowing eyes, but we have our doubts about whether he’d actually harm the babies or not if given the chance.

T-rex

Band, 1967

Everyone in rock ’n’ roll wanted to be “bad.” YouTube their 1973 Midnight Special performance and you’ll see why we put them on the creepy side.

Godzilla

Godzilla, 1954

Throughout history he has been destroying cities and lives.

Vastatosaurus Rex

King Kong, 2005

These dinos ultimately lose their battle to the giant gorilla, but sheesh, those things gave him a run for his money.

Velociraptor

Jurassic Park, 1993

The raptor’s intelligence combined with its claws and teeth make it a terrifying threat.

Indominus Rex

Jurassic World, 2015

We don’t want to spoil the movie, but trust us when we say this dino is a BAD BITCH.
