BBC and BBC America this weekend unleashed the first trailer with actual footage of the “Doctor Who” 50th anniversary special, “The Day of the Doctor.”

BBC was first out the gate with a 41-second clip for the episode, then BBC America released a shorter, 31-second version. The BBC clip starts with a menacing Dalek fleet in space, then Matt Smith’s 11th Doctor, while the BBC America clip starts with John Hurt’s character, who I have seen called the Lost Doctor or Dark Doctor, then Matt Smith and eventually the Dalek fleet.

Both clips have exclusive content, which means much to look at and analyze, including Smith’s 11th Doctor with David Tennant’s 10th Doctor, both Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald and Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, two of the Doctor’s companions–and that giant Dalek fleet.

“Why are we all together?” No. 10 asks. “Why are we all here?”

Those are the questions of “The Day of the Doctor,” which will debut at 1:50 p.m. CST Nov. 23 on BBC America as part of a global simulcast.
