The CTA will close the Kimball Brown Line stop for repairs for nine days starting next week, the CTA announced Wednesday.

From July 13 to July 22, the Kimball station in Albany Park will be be closed so the CTA can replace about 700 feet of deteriorated ties, rail, ballast and track components and the power and signaling systems.

Brown Line trains will start and end service from the Kedzie Brown Line stop, which is about a half-mile southeast of Kimball.

The Kimball station sees about 4,200 weekday riders.

The $4.6 million project is being funded by a 2009 Regional Transportation Authority grant, the CTA said.
