The CTA on Wednesday is holding a meeting about its $1.13 billion proposal to overhaul four Red Line stations, from Lawrence to Bryn Mawr, and corresponding track.

The proposed improvements include elevators, wider platforms, better lighting, longer canopies and more benches. None of the four stops are currently accessible for riders with disabilities; the proposal includes making all four stops accessible. Work would begin at 2017 at the earliest, depending on when CTA could identify funding.

The hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Truman College, 1145 W. Wilson Ave.

As proposed, three buildings and seven properties (including vacant lots and parking lots) would be potentially affected by construction. Those buildings are 4837 to 4887 North Broadway; 5637 to 5643 North Broadway and 5657 North Broadway.

In 2013, the Lawrence, Argyle and Berwyn stations each saw about 1 million station entries, which were double-digit ridership gains compared to the previous year.

The three stations were part of an $86 million project to repair seven North Side Red Line stations in 2012. Those stations were closed for six weeks on a rolling basis.

Last year, the Bryn Mawr stop saw 1.6 million station entries, a 2.5 percent decrease compared to 2012.
