What makes a trip to the bathroom memorable? Perhaps it’s the expensive candles or linen hand towels. Or maybe it’s that selfie-approved lighting and patterned-wallpaper backdrop. Regardless of what does it for you in the lavatory department, rest assured that you’re not the only one paying attention. Cintas Corp. just announced the 10 finalists for its 15th annual (yes, this is very real and very legit) America’s Best Bathroom contest.

Chicago newbies Leña Brava and Swift & Sons, both located in the West Loop, made the list of 10 potty finalists from across the country. Other contenders include Safe House restaurant in Milwaukee, Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Penn., and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in Minnesota. The finalists were evaluated on cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and unique design elements.

Rick Bayless’ lauded Leña Brava offers guests a washroom draped in colorful agave-printed wallpaper, while Swift & Sons’ restroom channels retro vibes with vault-like brass doors and fixtures, marble sinks and sophisticated tiling.

The winner will receive $2,500 in Cintas products and services to keep their bathroom is tip-top shape, and the public can vote for their favorite restroom here through Nov. 1. Until then, you too can worship at these Chicago ivory thrones.
