Chicago Haunted Houses 2014

Zombies and monsters and clowns...oh my! The Chicago haunted house scene is fierce and competitive this season, and that's why I ventured out to review some of the city's spookiest spots. All attractions were rated on a scream scale from 1 to 5 slashes (one being the lowest score) and include sub categories like line length, cost, length of haunt and fear factor.

Scream Scale

Line Length: 1 slash = 3-4 hours...2 slashes = 2-2.5 hours...3 slashes = 1-1.5 hours...4 slashes = 30-55minutes...5 slashes = 15-25 minutesCost (General Admission): 1 slash = $50+...2 slashes = $40+...3 slashes = $30+...4 slashes = $20+...5 slashes = $10+Length of Haunt: 1 slash = 10-15minutes...2 slashes = 16-20minutes...3 slashes = 21-30minutes...4 slashes = 31-40minutes...5 slashes = 41-50 minutesFear Factor: 1 slash = Not scary...2 slashes = Kind of scary...3 slashes = Moderately scary...4 slashes = Scary...5 slashes = Super scary

Whether you're scared by raging chainsaws or things that go bump in the night, you'll be able to find at least one thing that makes you jump (or in my case, drop to the ground and crawl) in these 2014 haunted attractions!
