Our summer weekends are numbered, so get outside with these five fests. See top dance companies from near and far at Chicago Dancing Festival, browse more than 150 artists at Bucktown Arts Fest, catch a gyro-eating contest at Taste of Greektown, chow down at Rogers Pork Barbecue, Arts & Music Festival and get your drink on at the inaugural Sangria Festival.

Chicago Dancing Festival
When: 5:30–8:30 p.m. Friday and 7:30–9:30 p.m. Saturday
Where: Navy Pier (Friday) and Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park (Saturday)
How much: Free
The skinny: Catch the two final events of the five-day fest, celebrating 10 years of performances with top dance companies from around the world. Head to Navy Pier on Friday for Planet Chicago, a world-themed program featuring local companies such as Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago and Chicago Human Rhythm Project. Saturday’s closing event, Dancing Under the Stars, is presented in Millennium Park and includes performances from new artists and returning companies that have been part of the fest’s history, such as the Pennsylvania Ballet, Joffrey Ballet and guests artists from England’s The Royal Ballet.

Taste of Greektown
When: 4–11 p.m. Friday and noon–11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
Where: Halsted and Van Buren streets
How much: Free
The skinny: Go from zero to gyro with three days of authentic food and music at this culture fest in its 27th year. Grab a bite from Artopolis bakery, Athena Greek Restaurant, Mr. Greek Gyros and others, and don’t miss the gyro-eating contest (6 p.m. Saturday, North Stage). Catch traditional dance and music, including Orpheus Dance Troupe (5 p.m. Saturday, South Stage; 7 p.m. Saturday, North Stage; 7:30 p.m. Sunday, South Stage) and Hellas 2000 (4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, South Stage).

Bucktown Arts Fest
When: 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
Where: Holstein Park (2200 N. Oakley Ave.)
How much: Free
The skinny: Nearly 200 artists come together for the 31st anniversary of this fest with food, craft beer and two stages for music. Browse artists such Go Cat Toys, Kevin Lucius with handmade wood block prints and NaughtyPigStudios with brooches, pendants and ornaments crafted from felt, shrink plastic, resin and other materials. Along with craft beer from Bell’s Brewery and Founders Brewing Co., the fest offers more than 20 specialty brews in limited supply from Goose Island Beer Co., Moody Tongue Brewing Co. and more.

Sangria Festival
When: Noon–10 p.m. Sunday
Where: National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture (3015 W. Division St.)
How much: $35–$45 for general admission with two tastings. $20 for general admission with no tasting. Tickets: sangriafestivalchicago.com
The skinny: This Humboldt Park fest in its first year features a variety of the wine-based drink from local bartenders. Sable Kitchen & Bar’s Pito Rodriguez, Ja’ Grill Hyde Park’s Misael Sarabia Hernandez and others serve up options including white peach sangria, classic red and more. Between sips, grab Spanish paella from Ciao Amore Chicago and bring a chair or blanket to catch live entertainment including flamenco dancing (5:30 p.m.), Gipsy Kings cover band El Bandolero (6:30 and 8:30 p.m.), Papa George with Caribbean reggae (2 p.m.) and more. The tasting price includes two drink tickets and a souvenir glass or bandana. Additional drink tickets are $6-$8.

Rogers Pork Barbecue, Arts & Music Festival
When: Noon–10 p.m. Saturday
Where: Jarvis Avenue between Ashland and Greenview avenues
How much: Free
The skinny: Fill up on barbecue from R Public House and other fare including veggie eats from The Amazing Kale Burger and Mexican food from Aztec Dave’s at the third annual Rogers Park fest. Shop fine art and handmade crafts at an art market and catch live music on two stages, including Fumée Gypsy Project with a blend of European and Chicago jazz styles (4:45 p.m. West Stage) and Funk Trunk Records’ DJ Quinn spinning soul, disco, funk and jazz (9 p.m. East Stage).
