Cinemax has unleashed a new “Strike Back”promo featuring a new song from music legend Bob Dylan.
Dylan’s “Early Roman Kings” plays over scenes from the Emmy-nominated thriller’s second season. The action drama focuses on members of a top-secret counterterrorism unit known as Section 20.
“Early Roman Kings” is one of two Dylan songs that will be featured in the new season. “Scarlet Town” will make its world premiere over the end credits following the back-to-back debuts of the first two episodes Aug. 17. The song will play after separate plays of both episodes, which will also be available from Max On Demand and Max GO.
Both previously unreleased songs appear on Dylan’s upcoming album “Tempest,” set to drop Sept. 11, marking his 50th anniversary as a recording artist and his 35th studio release.
The “Early Roman Kings” clip gives viewers a hint at all the sticky situations Sgt. Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and Damian Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) will find themselves in the first four episodes, including a firefight in Mogadishu, a terrorist ambush and a parachute drop in the desert.
It’s a bit spoilery concerning Season 2 guest star Rhona Mitra’s character, Rachel Dalton, but it’s kind of difficult not to spoil Rachel’s role in the guys’ new challenges. We also see cast members Rhashan Stone and Michelle Lukes, as well as guest stars Charles Dance, Vincent Regan, Shane Taylor, Tim Pigott-Smith and Anthony Oseyemi.
The song is perfect for the series, as is the show’s theme song, “Short Change Hero” by The Heavy. That song plays over the show’s opening title credits, which was recently nominated for an Emmy.
