Curt Wagner was born and raised in Norfolk, Neb., where he spent many nights pretending to study while really watching “The Sonny and Cher Show” through the crack of his bedroom door.

He’d do anything for Cher.

After graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, he worked at smaller papers in Nebraska and Indiana before joining the Chicago Tribune in 1993. He joined RedEye as it launched in 2002.

Since childhood, Curt has been glued to the tube (now the HD set) watching everything from “Wonder Woman” to “Heroes,” from “Murphy Brown” to “30 Rock,” from “Battlestar Galactica” to “Battlestar Galactica.”

He cried when “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” went off the air.

So yeah, he’s kind of a TV geek.
