Indianapolis—
Planned Parenthood says it will have to close seven Indiana clinics unless a judge grants a federal injunction to block a new Indiana law which strips away its funding. The agency that oversees Medicaid has said Indiana's new law conflicts with federal regulations. As a result, that agency is threatening to cut off all of Indiana's Medicaid funding.Monday, an attorney for the state told a judge that Planned Parenthood would still be eligible for Medicaid funding if it spun off its abortion clinic into a separate corporate entity. Neither side seemed to like that idea.
