Kent Erdahl comes to Fox59 from KSFY-TV in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he was a Reporter/Anchor. Kent received a South Dakota Associated Press First Place for his series on teens and drunk driving crashes.
Kent was born and raised in Fertile, Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Professional Journalism and a Minor in New Media. Kent is a member of the Investigative Reporters & Editors Organization.
What Kent enjoys most about his job is connecting with people and connecting them to information that is important to their lives. "Basically I love telling people's stories. As a multimedia journalist I have a chance to do that through video, writing, live reporting, or maybe a tweet or a status update on facebook. In any case a meaningful story will always inspire me to inform no matter what way it's communicated."
In his spare time, Kent enjoys any type of music, sports (both playing and watching), hunting, fishing, and camping.
"I'm from a state that prides itself on being "Minnesota Nice", but I can say people in Indiana can give Minnesotans a run for their money. I have felt right at home here thanks to many genuine, friendly and welcoming people. I'm proud to call myself a Hoosier."
