So I’m not sure if this is “male gaze” or if I’m old now or if I’m just clutching my pearls but the new Vanessa Hudgens video teaser of her new song "$$$ex" (a song she collaborated on with a group called YLA) has me feeling some weird feelings, people.
The video exudes nothing but pure, unbridled raging. It was obviously either filmed while on the set of--or heavily inspired by--Hudgens' recent film “Spring Breakers” (the pink masks in the video are worn by the characters in the film) and basically consists of a bunch of young women just enjoying themselves, free of worry and concern for anything other than dancing, popsicles and playing with pool noodles.
It’s like if the Harlem Shake meme met Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” video. It caught me off guard. I love it. I'm confused. Watch for yourself.
