RedEye celebrates its 10th birthday today. (But really, we don't look a day over 5, right? Kidding. Sorta.)
It's really not about us. It's about you, our readers.
RedEye launched in 2002 with you in mind. We wanted to give you something entertaining, informative and quick to read on your monotonous daily commute.
A lot has changed since 2002. We've steadily increased the paper's circulation (from 75,000 to 200,000 copies every weekday). We're no longer just a paper either. There's our online community at redeyechicago.com and our free iPhone app to help you navigate the city. In the spring, we introduced an award-winning iPad app. And thanks to social media, you can connect with us in more ways than ever before.
As we reflect on the past decade, the RedEye crew would like to thank you for making us a part of your lives, and for making RedEye what it is today: Chicago's most-read newspaper.
As RedEye continues to evolve, the focus remains on you and making your life a little easier, more informative and more entertaining. So, call us, Instagram us, tweet us, poke us, whatever.
We look forward to sharing many, many more years with you.
Thank you, Chicago, and cheers!
