7 shocking CTA stories of 2015

While many of us travel by bus or train all over the city without a hitch - beyond the delays and crowds - there were a handful of shocking stories - from reported crimes to acts of kindness - that stood out in 2015.

There was the couple on the Blue Line who's picture went viral after a rider witnessed them giving money to a homeless man on the train or the Good samaritan who chased after a man after witnessing him rob a woman on a CTA platform.

Then there was the CTA train full of passengers that pulled out of a Blue Line station - with one of the doors still wide open. And who can forget the sad story of the man who slipped, fell and was killed while chasing after a CTA bus.

After a woman was sexually assaulted and brutally beaten on a Blue Line train, the CTA released surveillance photos of the suspect - later identified as a 15-year-old boy. It was the teen's mother who turned him in to authorities after seeing the photos.

In stranger crime news, a puppy was stolen at knifepoint on the Orange Line. And a series of brand new trains were vandalized in one of the worst graffiti attacks the CTA has seen in years.
