While the summer is nearing an end, a new festival will extend it just a bit longer.
Wicker Park taco-and-booze haven Big Star, in conjunction with the Metro and Tecate, will launch its first annual music festival Sept. 8 called The Dust-Up.
The first installment of the annual concert series will feature Disappears, Andre Williams & The Goldstars, Old Baby, Quarter Mile Thunder and Chicago-Americana-blues group The Jeff Walroth Band.
These live musicians will take the stage beginning at 4 p.m., while DJs and a record fair will kick off the event at noon, including booths from Numero Group, Bloodshot and Kranky Records.
The Dust-Up will take place in Big Star's parking lot, at 1531 N. Damen Ave., and will be free to the public with beer available outside.
