The Chicago Police Department is warning South Chicago and Grand Crossing residents about a spate of burglaries in which people smashed the front glass doors of businesses and took items from inside.

All four incidents reportedly took place on July 6, overnight or in the early morning, in the 3rd and 4th police districts, which encompass parts of the South Side, including Grand Crossing and South Chicago. Their locations are in the 1900 block of East 75th Street, the 1900 block of East 73rd Street, the 2300 block of East 75th Street, and the 2000 block of East 75th Street.

Police recommend that business owners prevent burglary by keeping the perimeter of their property well lit, securing doors and windows, reporting suspicious activities and capturing video surveillance.
