Chicago man accused of cell phone snatching at bus stop

A Chicago man was charged with robbery after he allegedly snatched a cell phone from the hand of a man waiting for a CTA bus in Rogers Park Sunday morning.

Alex Riaz, 18, of the 6300 block of South Hoyne Avenue, stole a Galaxy S5 cell phone from a 23-year-old man after passing him at the #155 CTA bus stop at the intersection of Hoyne and West Devon avenues, according to the police report.

Riaz was brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse Monday afternoon and ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bond.
