Lollapalooza 'zombie' biter in custody: police

Police may have found the Lollapalooza "zombie" who bit a concertgoer at the three-day music festival in Grant Park this year, and tussled with another.

Sergio Vicenteno, 33, of the 1400 block of South Michigan Avenue, has been charged with biting a Wicker Park man while he was watching an Arctic Monkeys concert on Friday, Aug. 1, the first evening of the festival.

Days after the biting incident, Ben Lenet, 29, told RedEye was enjoying the music when suddenly a stranger came up to him and bit him hard on the left forearm, breaking skin, and tackled Lenet’s friend, also 29, to the ground. The attacker then walked away.

Lenet likened the event to a sort of "zombie" attack when he posted photos of his injuries on Reddit the Monday after the music festival, in hopes of hearing from witnesses to the attack and, possibly, finding the man responsible.

Lenet said he was treated and released from the hospital the same day, but needed preventative treatment for HIV and Hepatitis.

Vicenteno was arrested at the 2nd District police station Wednesday after meeting with detectives there, according to court records. He was charged with two counts of aggravated battery at a public venue.

Vicenteno was arraigned at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse on Thursday afternoon and a judge ordered him held in lieu of $60,000 bond.

Reached Thursday, Lenet declined to comment.
