CPD to monitor Albany Park roads for DUI offenders Friday

An effort to crackdown on drunken driving continues this weekend in Chicago, where police will be focusing on the Albany Park neighborhood.

Officers will be be stationed at and around the corner of Irving Park Road and Springfield Avenue from 7 p.m. Friday evening to 3 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Police officers conducted a similar roadside safety check in the 14th Police District, which encompasses parts of West Town and Logan Square, between July 15 and 26, and charged seven motorists with driving under the influence, according to the alert.

Officers also found six insurance violations, 11 driver's license violations and nine other traffic violations that required citations.
