A Morgan Park man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly spent $1,800 at a luxury River North hotel and refused to pay, county prosecutors said.
Jerrell Palmer, 27, of the 11400 block of South May Street, was arrested in River North Wednesday after he allegedly fled from Hotel Sax at 333 N. Dearborn St. to avoid paying his hotel bill, according to the police report.
Hotel staff called police to the building, but Palmer ignored their commands to stop and fled, the report said. When they caught him, he allegedly pulled away from one officer who eventually cuffed him.
Palmer was carrying three credit or debit cards that did not belong to him, the police report said, but were apparently counterfeit cards he purchased on Facebook.
Palmer was brought to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse Thursday afternoon and ordered held on a $10,000 bond.
