The Chicago Police Department is warning Albany Park residents about two home invasions that were reported earlier this month and may be part of a pattern.
An alert said two or three male offenders, all wearing a ski mask or a hooded sweatshirt pulled tight over their heads, entered homes in the 17th police district, which includes Albany Park. The men displayed handguns and searched the houses. In one incident, the alert said, an offender fired the handgun. In another, the offenders told people in the home that they were police officers looking for someone.
The first incident took place in the 5800 block of North Jersey Avenue on June 7 at about 9:50 p.m., and the second took place in the 6300 block of North Lowell Avenue on June 16 at about 1:05 p.m.
