Four AT&T stores have been burglarized or damaged in the Loop and Near North Side during the month of December and police are trying to find those responsible.
The crimes have all occurred between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., a Business Alert from Belmont Area detectives said.
The suspects hurl bricks or rocks at the windows and once inside, they grab items they can easily carry such as phone or small electronic equipment, the alert said.
The businesses -- at 205 W. Monroe, 168 N. State St., and 356 N. Clark St. -- are all AT&T stores.
The recent pattern began on Dec. 3 at 3:30 a.m. when the suspects criminally damaged property at 205 W. Monroe St., according to police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety.
Next, the suspects burglarized and forcibly entered a business at 168 N. State St. on Dec. 22 at 4:58 a.m.
On Dec. 30, they hit the same business on Monroe in another criminal damage to property, and about one hour later, the suspects burglarized the business at 356 N. Clark St., said Baety.
The suspects are described as being males between the ages of 17 and 30, who wear dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts, the alert said.Anyone with information should call detectives, (312) 744-8263.
