Ready to really indulge your sweet tooth? This five-stop quest for Lincoln Park's top treats should quell your cravings. A car will quicken the trip, but a combination of walking and bus-hopping will help work up an appetite for more.
Start your trip at Floriole (1220 W. Webster Ave. 773-883-1313), where the pastry case is stocked with sweets ranging from almond cream-filled croissants to beautiful fruit galettes.
Just down the block, Sweet Mandy B's (1208 W. Webster Ave. 773-244-1174) beckons with picture-perfect pies and specialty brownies.
A brisk walk north on Racine and east on Wrightwood will bring you to Molly's Cupcakes (2536 N. Clark St. 773-883-7220), where you'll find some of the best cupcakes in town. If the brown butter frosting is available, don't pass it up.
Walk up to Diversey Avenue to catch the westbound #76 bus to Fritz Pastry (1408 W. Diversey Parkway 773-857-2989), most adored for its French macarons, which come in flavors such as apple brandy and pineapple, just to name a few.
Hit Wells Street in Old Town for fudge at Kilwin's (1405 N. Wells St. 312-654-1962), brioche and macarons at French bakery La Fournette (1547 N. Wells St. 312-624-9430) and cookies of all kinds at Delightful Pastries (1710 N. Wells St. 312-255-0724).
