An 11-year-old girl told police a masked man tried to force her into a white van about 3:50 p.m. in the 900 block of East 63rd Street, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Chicago police are investigating after a girl was reportedly spotted duct-taped and crying for help in the back of a van in the the South Side's Woodlawn neighborhood Monday afternoon.

An 11-year-old girl told police a masked man tried to force her into a white van in the 900 block of East 63rd Street about 3:50 p.m., according to the Chicago Police Department.

The 11-year-old said she managed to escape but told police she had seen another girl, about 12 years old, in the back of the van, according to police.

The hands and legs of the girl inside the van had been duct-taped, and the girl was screaming for help, the 11-year-old told police.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-11' and was reportedly wearing a ski mask and black clothing. The vehicle was described as "a white full-sized van with painted over windows," according to a community alert.
